What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever worked on? The logic that drives a PV inverter. I helped develop and qualify code that maximizes energy harvest from solar arrays, performs grid support functions, and softens variations in PV plant output power during cloudy days. Our work was funded as part of a broader initiative by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy to facilitate the integration of solar energy into the electrical grid at higher levels.

Where did you grow up? Columbia, South Carolina

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well? I once entered a three-story building from the third-story window by scaling the building's architectural features.

If you could sit next to anyone in the world on a 10-hour flight, who would it be? Jon Stewart

If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would you make? Do what you say you are going to do.

What’s one of your favorite phrases or quotes? “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. ... We need not wait to see what others do.” - Mahatma Gandhi
