The KREP site is a 6.18 MWdc solar photovoltaic power plant located on 20 acres of rural land in Kalaeloa on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The system is located adjacent to a Marine Corps Air Station runway that was strafed during the attack on Pearl Harbor and a key design driver was minimize site disturbance during the installation. Consequently, the PV field features a ballasted racking system that is surface-mounted and DC feeders run in conduit above ground rather than buried, to further minimize ground disturbance.
